Safety is at the heart of any great community, and a major new milestone for Valencia is officially underway. Construction has begun on Fire Station 46, a 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located on the aptly named Bombero Lane (bombero is Spanish for firefighter).
Scheduled to open in October 2027, the station will be staffed by trained professionals ready to respond at a moment’s notice, providing a new layer of peace of mind for residents.
A Holistic Approach to Safety
The new station is part of a comprehensive fire-resiliency strategy that has been a priority for Valencia since its inception. Eric Morgan, FivePoint’s Vice President of Community Affairs, shared that years of planning go into designing a community that adopts best practices in fire safety.
“When families move into a new community like Valencia by FivePoint, safety is a top priority,” said Morgan.
“This holistic approach includes using non-combustible building materials that meet strict Chapter 7A building codes. Comprehensive ember protection and fire-resistant landscaping, fuel modification zones, wider roadways, underground utilities, and dependable water storage and supply are also key pieces of the fire-safety puzzle.”
The “Four-Legged Firefighters”
While the new station represents the latest in emergency technology, some of the community's most effective safety measures are surprisingly traditional. FivePoint’s mitigation strategy includes more than 1,500 goats and sheep that graze on overgrowth in hard-to-reach areas.
Morgan describes these animals as Valencia’s own “four-legged firefighters,” noting that these “agile and Instagrammable lawnmowers are a popular sight in Valencia and an earth-friendly alternative to the gas-powered variety!”
From the grazing herds on the hillsides to a new station rising on Bombero Lane, Fire Station 46 represents something simple but significant: another layer of protection built into everyday life at Valencia. It’s a long-term investment in faster response, smarter preparedness, and the kind of safety planning that lets residents feel more confident—at home, on the trails, and throughout the community—as Valencia continues to grow.
